Your larger pool eats more electricity. And makes more noise.
Bigger pool means longer runtime, bigger bills, more motor wear, and a constant drone if you're still on a single speed pump. The Aquagem inverter options cut electricity by up to 90% and run at 36 decibels, quieter than your fridge. Five installation packages for pools 85,000 to 150,000 litres and beyond, from R4,099.99 to R20,997.97 with old pump removal, pipework, electrical connection to your DB box, and a 1 year warranty included.

Repair estimates assume one out of warranty repair around R1,500 per occurrence. The 2 year warranty pumps carry an allowance of 2 repairs over the 5 year period, the 3 year warranty pump 1 repair, and the 5 year Aquagem pumps carry R0 because all repairs fall under warranty. Electricity calculation uses a ratio of motor output to filtration demand: single speed pumps run at full rated power, variable speed averages about 50%, and full inverter pumps average about 15 to 20% across a typical day. Real world results vary with pool size, climate, and pump schedule.

Five reasons inverter pumps are different.
Single speed pumps were the standard for 40 years. Then permanent magnet motors got cheap and inverter technology came home. Here is what changed for you, the pool owner.
Up to 90% less electricity
A single speed pump runs at 100% power for 100% of the time the timer is on. An inverter pump reads how much flow the filter actually needs and dials the motor down. Most of the day it runs at 30 to 50% power. Same filtration result, a fraction of the bill.
Whisper quiet (36 dB)
A typical single speed pump runs at 60 to 70 dB. That is loud enough to hear inside your house with the windows closed. Aquagem inverters run as low as 36 dB. Quieter than a library. Quieter than your fridge.
Longer pump lifespan
Single speed motors slam on and off at full power. That is hard on the motor, the bearings, the seals, and the plumbing. Inverter pumps ramp up gradually and run at lower speeds. A fraction of the mechanical stress on every component, every cycle.
Smart control
Inverter pumps have a real control panel. Set 4 schedules a day. Run the heat pump cycle faster, the filtration cycle slower. One touch backwash. The InverCaptain even shows you the live wattage so you know what each setting actually costs.
Better filtration, less chlorine
Lower speed for longer hours filters more thoroughly than higher speed for fewer hours. Slow water through sand or glass media gets cleaned properly. Fast water just shoots through. Your pool ends up clearer, and most owners find they need less chlorine to keep it that way.
What you actually save.
A 1.1kW single speed pump running 8 hours a day pulls roughly 9 kWh. An inverter pump on the same schedule pulls 1 to 2 kWh by running at lower speeds. Over a year on a larger pool, that adds up to many thousands of rand depending on your tariff.
Versus a comparable single speed pump on the same daily schedule. Verified by Aquagem on the InverCaptain DCP12.
The inverter premium over a single speed pump typically pays itself back in less than 2 years. Then it keeps saving you money every month after that.
Quieter than your fridge. Most pool owners forget the pump is on, which is exactly the point.
A worked example: The price gap between the Eartheco 1.1kW single speed at R4,099.99 and the Aquagem InverEco DE-22 at R14,497.97 is about R10,400. Running 8 hours a day at a typical Gauteng residential tariff, the InverEco saves around R700 to R900 a month in electricity on a larger pool. That pays back the price gap inside 14 to 15 months and then keeps saving you that amount every month for the rest of the pump's life. Inverter pumps typically last 8 to 12 years.
