Why book one

Worth checking, whether you are buying or you already own it.

Buying or selling a home

Before you buy a property with a pool, an inspection uncovers hidden problems and looming costs, so there are no surprises after transfer. Selling? A clean report is a strong selling point.

You already own the pool

Catching a small issue early, a worn pump bearing, a cracked weir, filter media past its life, is far cheaper than waiting for it to fail. The report tells you what needs doing now and what can wait.

Simple and upfront

How the inspection works.

  1. Book on WhatsApp

Message us on 061 568 2399 to set a date and time. We confirm by WhatsApp and send a reminder on the day. The R450 is payable by Yoco or EFT to secure the visit. Have your pool water at its normal level so the system runs properly.

  2. We inspect, on site

Our team works through the pool, the equipment and the water using the checklist below, and takes a water sample for an electronic test at our shop. We compile a detailed report of everything we find.

  3. You get a report and a quote

We email you the findings and a quote for any work needed. Accept the quote and the R450 comes off the price, so the inspection effectively costs you nothing. A consultant talks you through it.

The checklist

What we check on the visit.

Pool, paving and water feature

Lining, paving and any water feature checked for cracks, leaks and wear.

Pump and motor

Run and tested under load, listening for bearing and seal trouble.

Filter and media

Sand, cartridge or glass media checked, with a backwash check.

Suction test

On the pipework from the weir to the pump, to find blockages or air leaks.

Salt chlorinator

Tested if one is fitted to your pool.

Water chemistry

Free chlorine, combined chlorine, total alkalinity, pH and stabiliser, confirmed on an electronic test at our shop.

Pool cleaner

The cleaner, its hoses and fittings checked for wear.

Skimmers and extras

Weir, baskets and any add on equipment reviewed.

Light and DB box

Inspected for safety and condition.

Straight talk

What it does. What it doesn't.

It does this

  • A full assessment of the pool, equipment and water in one visit.
  • A written report you can keep, with photos where useful.
  • Clear recommendations on what needs doing and what can wait.
  • A proper electronic water test, not just a quick strip dip.

It doesn't do this

  • It is an inspection, not a repair visit. We do not carry out work on the day.
  • It does not include parts or chemicals. Those are quoted separately.
  • It cannot see inside sealed underground pipework, we test it instead.
  • It is not a structural engineer's report. For major structural concerns we refer you on.
Good to know

Pool inspection questions.

Why is a pool inspection worth it?
It finds problems and safety issues early, confirms everything is working, and tells you exactly where your pool stands. That is useful whether you are buying, selling, or you just want peace of mind.
When should I book one?
When you are buying or selling a property with a pool, when a problem keeps coming back, when you cannot keep the water right, or when you simply want the pool checked over.
What does the inspection cover?
The pool structure and finishes, the pump, filter and chlorinator, the pipework, the water chemistry, the cleaner, the skimmers, and the light and DB box. The full checklist is on this page.
How long does it take?
Usually a couple of hours, depending on the size of the pool and how much equipment there is to go through.
Can I not just check it myself?
A trained eye and the right test equipment pick up things that are easy to miss, like a failing motor bearing, an air leak on the suction side, or water that looks fine but is not balanced.
What problems do inspections usually turn up?
Common ones are cracks in the lining or paving, worn or noisy pumps, leaking pipework, filter media past its life, water chemistry out of balance, and electrical or safety issues at the light and DB box.
Does it cover safety?
Yes. We check the light and DB box and flag any safety concern around the pool and its electrics.
What do I get at the end?
A written report on the condition of the pool and its equipment, plus a quote for any recommended work. Accept the quote and the R450 comes off the price.
Which areas do you cover?
The East Rand: Boksburg, Benoni, Brakpan, Springs, Kempton Park, Edenvale, Bedfordview, Germiston, Alberton and Nigel. Outside that, ask us and we will let you know.
How much is it, and is it refundable?
R450, payable by Yoco or EFT to book the visit. If you accept our quote for the work, the R450 is refunded off the quote.

How a service works

  1. Get in touch

WhatsApp 061 568 2399 is quickest, or give us a call. Tell us what you need and send a few photos if you can.

  2. We quote you

Most jobs we can quote straight from your photos at no charge. If a job needs a technician to come and look first, that is a R450 call out, and it comes off your invoice the moment you go ahead.

  3. We book you in

Once you accept the quote we schedule the work, usually within 1 to 2 working days depending on the diary.

  4. We do the work

Your job is handled by our own team, James, Ishmael and Lucious. You do not have to be home, we just need access to the pool and equipment, though we prefer you there so we can hand over properly.

  5. Handover

We show you what was done and how to look after it. Payment is by Yoco or EFT.

Booking and contact

Booking and call out questions

What does a call out cost?
R450. If you accept the quote the call out comes off your invoice, so you are not paying twice. Quotes from photos are free.
When can you come out?
Most jobs are booked within 1 to 2 working days, depending on how full the diary is that week. WhatsApp us and we will give you the next available slot.
What do your services cost?
Every job is priced on its own. Starting prices for clean ups, maintenance, sand changes, pump installations and PoolSkim installation are on each service page. For anything else, send us a few photos on WhatsApp and we will quote you for free.
What areas do you cover?
Boksburg, Benoni, Brakpan, Springs, Kempton Park, Edenvale, Bedfordview, Germiston, Alberton and Nigel. Plots, farms and areas outside this list are by arrangement at a higher rate, and we always tell you the extra upfront.
How do I pay?
Payment is by Yoco or EFT. We work job by job, so there are no accounts to open.
Do I need to be home?
No. We just need access to your pool and equipment, so let us know how to get in and make sure any dogs are secured. We do prefer you there at the end so we can hand over.
Do you work weekends and public holidays?
The shop and phone line are open over weekends and public holidays for advice, sales and water testing. On site service and installation work is booked Monday to Friday.
What types of pool do you service?
All of them. Concrete, marbelite, fibreglass and vinyl, on both chlorine and salt systems.
Do you do repairs?
Yes. Pumps, filters, leaks, automatic cleaners and the usual pool problems. The only things we do not do are building brand new pools and major structural renovations.
My pool is green. How fast can you fix it?
It depends on how far gone it is. Many pools are swim ready within a few days, while a badly neglected pool can take 1 to 2 weeks to bring back properly.
Do you offer free water testing?
Yes, onsite across the East Rand. Book it on WhatsApp. We test your water, tell you exactly what it needs, and you collect the chemicals from us.
Do you deliver?
Free delivery in Boksburg on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Order from us and we bring it to your gate.
Can I cancel or move my booking?
No problem, just let us know at least one day before so we can offer the slot to someone else.
What guarantee do I get?
Your workmanship is guaranteed. The exact cover depends on the job and the products fitted. For example, pump installations include a 1 year installation warranty on top of the manufacturer warranty on the pump.
What if it rains on the day?
If the weather stops us finishing, we come back on the next available day to complete the job.
