How the installation works.

  1. Inspect and photograph

    We check the existing installation and surrounding equipment for any placement or pipework complications, and photograph everything before we start, so the condition of your other components is on record before any work begins.

  2. Remove the old media and filter

    Old media out, then the old unit is disconnected and removed.

  3. Install the new filter

    Fitted in the same position as the old one, with 3 unions for easy future service.

  4. Reconnect the pipework

    Integrated with your pump using 50mm solvent weld fittings, with poly pipe adaptors if needed.

  5. Add your media

    Silica sand, Eco Clear glass or Eco Fibre sponge, your choice.

  6. Close, test and hand over

    The filter is sealed, every connection is pressure tested for leaks, and the system is commissioned.

Match the filter to your pump. Every filter on this page is sized for a 0.75kW pump. The sand filters suit pools up to about 50,000 litres, and the cartridge options up to 62,000 litres. Fitting a filter that does not match your pump can void the manufacturer warranty, so if you are not sure of your pump size, send us a photo and we will confirm. Found it cheaper elsewhere? We will beat any written quote on a like for like filter installation.

Filter installation questions.

Which filter should I choose?
Aqua Max is the most affordable, the UNI is our pick because it carries a 5 year tank warranty for only a little more, and the Speck and Quality grey filters are premium options. Send us a photo of your setup and we will recommend the right one for your pool.
Sand, glass or fibre, what is the difference?
Silica sand is the traditional media and the cheapest. Eco Clear glass filters finer and clearer, uses less water on backwash and less chemicals, and lasts longer, which is why we recommend it. Eco Fibre sponge is the eco friendly option.
Do you remove my old filter?
Yes. We dismantle and remove your old above ground filter and dispose of it. Installation is on a flat surface.
How long does the installation take?
Usually 1 to 2 hours on site once we arrive with the right filter and your chosen media.
What warranty do I get?
One year on our installation workmanship, plus the manufacturer tank warranty: 2 years on Aqua Max, Speck and Quality, and a full 5 years on the UNI.
Does the filter have to match my 0.75kW pump?
Yes. A filter that does not match your pump can void the warranty. Every filter on this page is matched to a 0.75kW pump and pools up to about 50,000 litres.
What about poly pipe?
No problem. We carry special adaptors for poly pipe, and we use 50mm PVC fittings with solvent weld for a secure install.
Sand filter or cartridge?
The four sand filters here are the workhorse choice. The two cartridge filters (Eco Wise 3 up to 62,000 litres and Crystal Clear GL50 up to 45,000 litres) skip backwashing, you rinse and reuse the cartridge instead. Ask us which suits your pool.

  2. We quote you

    Most jobs we can quote straight from your photos at no charge. If a job needs a technician to come and look first, that is a R450 call out, and it comes off your invoice the moment you go ahead.

  3. We book you in

    Once you accept the quote we schedule the work, usually within 1 to 2 working days depending on the diary.

  4. We do the work

    Your job is handled by our own team, James, Ishmael and Lucious. You do not have to be home, we just need access to the pool and equipment, though we prefer you there so we can hand over properly.

  5. Handover

    We show you what was done and how to look after it. Payment is by Yoco or EFT.

Booking and call out questions

What does a call out cost?
R450. If you accept the quote the call out comes off your invoice, so you are not paying twice. Quotes from photos are free.
When can you come out?
Most jobs are booked within 1 to 2 working days, depending on how full the diary is that week. WhatsApp us and we will give you the next available slot.
What do your services cost?
Every job is priced on its own. Starting prices for clean ups, maintenance, sand changes, pump installations and PoolSkim installation are on each service page. For anything else, send us a few photos on WhatsApp and we will quote you for free.
What areas do you cover?
Boksburg, Benoni, Brakpan, Springs, Kempton Park, Edenvale, Bedfordview, Germiston, Alberton and Nigel. Plots, farms and areas outside this list are by arrangement at a higher rate, and we always tell you the extra upfront.
How do I pay?
Payment is by Yoco or EFT. We work job by job, so there are no accounts to open.
Do I need to be home?
No. We just need access to your pool and equipment, so let us know how to get in and make sure any dogs are secured. We do prefer you there at the end so we can hand over.
Do you work weekends and public holidays?
The shop and phone line are open over weekends and public holidays for advice, sales and water testing. On site service and installation work is booked Monday to Friday.
What types of pool do you service?
All of them. Concrete, marbelite, fibreglass and vinyl, on both chlorine and salt systems.
Do you do repairs?
Yes. Pumps, filters, leaks, automatic cleaners and the usual pool problems. The only things we do not do are building brand new pools and major structural renovations.
My pool is green. How fast can you fix it?
It depends on how far gone it is. Many pools are swim ready within a few days, while a badly neglected pool can take 1 to 2 weeks to bring back properly.
Do you offer free water testing?
Yes, onsite across the East Rand. Book it on WhatsApp. We test your water, tell you exactly what it needs, and you collect the chemicals from us.
Do you deliver?
Free delivery in Boksburg on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Order from us and we bring it to your gate.
Can I cancel or move my booking?
No problem, just let us know at least one day before so we can offer the slot to someone else.
What guarantee do I get?
Your workmanship is guaranteed. The exact cover depends on the job and the products fitted. For example, pump installations include a 1 year installation warranty on top of the manufacturer warranty on the pump.
What if it rains on the day?
If the weather stops us finishing, we come back on the next available day to complete the job.
