For pools in the early stages of going off. Water has a green tint, but the bottom and walls are still visible. Light dust or sediment on the floor.

For pools that have sat unmaintained for weeks. Dark green or brownish green water, algae visible on the walls and steps, but no sludge yet. Flocculant plus vacuum to waste.

Drain & Light Acid Wash
Disaster, severe staining, old plaster
For pools where chemical clean ups can't reach the problem anymore. Heavy mineral staining, embedded algae in old plaster, tide lines and calcium scale. We drain, scrub and apply a controlled light acid wash to expose cleaner plaster.

Stain removal cannot be guaranteed on any tier. Results depend on the type of stain (organic, mineral or metallic), how long it's been there, and the condition of the plaster underneath. We'll give you an honest expectation before we start, and tell you straight if a replaster is the better call.

Prices include all chemicals, labour and travel within the East Rand. Drain & Light Acid Wash scales from R5,500 to R7,500 by pool size, and the final quote also depends on plaster condition and stain depth. Stain removal, sand changes and pump or filter repairs are quoted separately if needed.

Do I have to send a photo of my pool?
A photo is by far the fastest way for us to quote accurately. You snap your pool, send it on WhatsApp, we quote within the hour, no one has to leave home. If you can't send a photo (or you'd prefer a pro in person), we offer a site visit for R450 callout, fully refundable when you accept the quote. Either path works, the photo path is just faster and cheaper.
How do I measure my pool's size in litres?
Length (m) × Width (m) × Average Depth (m) × 1000 = litres. Average depth is halfway between your shallow end (around 1m) and deep end (around 2m). A typical 8m × 4m pool with 1.5m average depth holds about 48,000 litres, so you'd pick 50,000L. Not sure? Just guess. We confirm when we quote.
Do you have to drain my pool?
Almost never. All three of our clean up tiers are designed to bring your pool back without draining. Draining is expensive, hard on the plaster and bad for water restrictions. We use chemicals, flocculants and vacuuming instead. Drained pools are a separate service we only recommend for serious structural cleaning.
How long does a clean up take?
Basic Clean Ups are usually finished in a single day, with the pool swim ready within 24 to 48 hours. Heavy Clean Ups take 2 to 4 days. Drop and Vac jobs need 3 to 7 days because the flocculant has to settle for a full day before we vacuum.
What if my pump or filter is broken?
No clean up will hold without a working pump and filter. We'll have a look when we arrive and quote you on the repair or replacement. We can also do the pump or filter swap on the same visit if you give us the go ahead.
Do you remove pool stains?
Stain removal is a separate job, quoted after the clean up. We need the pool to be balanced and stable for at least two weeks before we attempt stain treatment. Some stains lift, some don't, and we'll tell you straight before we charge for it.
Can you guarantee my stains will come out?
No, and we won't pretend otherwise. Stain removal depends on what caused the stain (organic algae stains, mineral deposits from borehole water, or metal stains from old fittings), how long it's been there, and how thick your remaining plaster is. We give you a realistic expectation before we drain and start the work. Sometimes a replaster is the right answer, not an acid wash, and we'll say so.
How often can a pool be acid washed?
Every five to seven years at most. Pool plaster is roughly half an inch thick, and each acid wash etches a thin layer off the surface. Doing it too often will wear the plaster down to the gunite underneath, and then you're looking at a full replaster which is a much bigger job and cost.
My pool is fibreglass or vinyl. Can you still acid wash it?
No. Acid will eat right through fibreglass and vinyl liners. Acid wash is for concrete, plaster, gunite and PebbleTec finishes only. If you have a fibreglass or vinyl pool with staining, we can still help with chemical treatments and surface cleaning, but with different methods that won't damage the surface.
Do I have to be home?
No. Most of our customers are at work. Leave the gate unlocked or send us a code. We'll WhatsApp you photos before we start and after we finish.
How do I pay?
Yoco or EFT. We send an invoice on WhatsApp once the job is done and you can pay then. No deposit needed for standard clean ups.
Why not just buy chemicals and do it myself?
You can. For a slightly off pool, it's usually cheaper to dose it yourself, and we'll happily sell you the right chemicals. Once it's full luminous green or worse, the chemical cost alone often beats our Basic Clean Up price, and you're still doing all the brushing and vacuuming. We just make it easier.

Most jobs we can quote straight from your photos at no charge. If a job needs a technician to come and look first, that is a R450 call out, and it comes off your invoice the moment you go ahead.
We book you in
Once you accept the quote we schedule the work, usually within 1 to 2 working days depending on the diary.
We do the work
Your job is handled by our own team, James, Ishmael and Lucious. You do not have to be home, we just need access to the pool and equipment, though we prefer you there so we can hand over properly.
